About DreamPlus Studio
Summary
Founded in Aug 2004, DreamPlus Studio started out as a portfolio site to showcase my ideas and views on design, in the form of articles and tutorials. Over the months, I was surprised to receive requests from the visitors, who ask about my availability to do some commissioned works, this is generally how I started providing web design services, in late 2005. The following year, I decided to extend my services to print design and branding services as well. Today, DreamPlus Studio has evolved into a more enriching and fun place (known as my blog and showcase site), not only to showcase my work, but I hope to inspire, inform and educate the visitors as well. Hopefully, I can make use of the blog to share with you my personal interest and experience.
The Logo
Talking about DreamPlus Studio, I will never miss out the logo, its the mission and vision I have for DreamPlus Studio. Created back in Dec 2007, the logo you see above (top-left hand corner) is actually the 3rd design I have come out with for DreamPlus Studio, which act as one of my major re-branding process. I always wanted to create a logo that never go out of style for DreamPlus Studio. I know it should not look too complicated and at first look, people should recognize the brand very quickly.
Inspired by the rings around our Solar System's Jovian planets, a spiral-looking shape has been added that run from the back of the logo to the front of the word ’studio’, this should give off a feeling of ‘moving forward’, a kind of thinking/attitude that the company will want to adhere to, in order to revolutionize throughout its journey. On the other hand, the letter 'l' in Plus is merged together with the letter 'i' in studio, which fits the idea of blending design into people life. Last but not least, the main reason for the logo texts to be in white color, should symbolises endless design possibilities.

Background
Hi, I'm Teck Yu (also known as 'tysoh' on the net), currently staying in Singapore. Other than running DreamPlus Studio, I'm also a full-time undergrad pursuing my degree in Computer Engineering. Since young, I have already developed a deep interest for art and design. However, its only in July 2003, I was introduced to web design by a school friend. And from that time onwards, I was totally hooked up to the computer. I began to explore the web, as well as books for the knowledge and resources I needed to do design, some of the tools I have been using until today, includes Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver (for XHTML/CSS coding).
Since late 2005, I have been working as a part-time freelancer to design web and print content for people. Through my freelance work, I have not only gained a considerable amount of knowledge and experience in designing for the websites and printed materials. But, most importantly to improve on my communication and project management skills, in order to serve the clients more effectively, and to meet tight datelines. Nevertheless, as a freelancer I am always on the look out for an interesting or challenging project to get involved in.
My skills in digital content design and quality work show a strong commitment to helping my clients succeed and excel in individuality. Since I’ve started I’ve gained considerable experience in both print and web designing. This is not only a great benefit to me, but it’s great for my clients as well in which I can help create some of the best work that my clients need and deserve.
