Hi “5″ for DreamPlus Studio next month!

Yes, its fast! I did not even expect myself to be blogging this post as well, DreamPlus Studio will be turning 5 next month. Alot of things have come and go unexpectedly for me, however I always treat them as part of my learning journey. Although for the next 2 years, I will be getting more and more busy with school work, however, I always remind myself to make it a constant effort to blog about things they can get me inspired and share with the rest. And this is how I hope to continue to treat DreamPlus Studio as, an inspiring blog! You know, to inspire myself as well as others. So, what’s the catch about turning 5? Actually, I did not even notice it, until now. Turning 5 to me doesn’t really mean anything, it just remind me of how fast the time passed by, it’s very important to treasure every moment you have, and be your best… That’s all!

People just don’t understand how important design is

I always like to stress out that design is not all about looking good and nice, but a form of consistency (professional) and experience you wanted to project for your audience. One recent example, is when I was working on a powerpoint with my school mates, and they were saying “c’mon its just a small heading only, its not necessary to have it on all slides”, however I still insisted on making sure all slides following the same template, as well as other details such as colour, font type and font size. Other than that, I have also tried my best to ensure that the visual presentation of the slides are easily understood by most people. I’m not sure if people appreciate or not, but I strongly believe, when all these tiny details are put together in a nice way, it will surely help to enhance the audience experience. It’s not all about what you think, sometimes we have to stand from the audience perspective.

Accounting, you will need it for your business

Before taking up Accounting this special semester, I have heard people saying how tedious it is, with lots of calculations to do and formulas to remember. However, I decided to give it a shot, and take up the challenge. And yes, what those people said are perfectly through, it’s not that easy, especially if you have no background on it, and the lecturer keep on using lots of those business terms that you never heard before. But, after a while, trust me you will get use to it, just that you will need some effort to remember them. But after that, you should be ok with it.

After attending the past 6 seminars (still got 4 more to go), I find that it actually help me to understand the importance of financial analysis, and of course, to run a company its not that easy, there are just too many things to take care of, and its a constant effort to keep up. Therefore, for accounting, I would say its the basic or rather essential in business. Before, diving into your own business, its important to know accounting first!

P.S: Have to get ready for my upcoming quiz and exam soon… :_

Pwnage Tool for iPhone OS 3.0 released

It’s finally here! I have been waiting for the past few days, before upgrading my iPhone 1st gen to the latest firmware 3.0. If you just want to upgrade the firmware, instead of restoring it, I would suggest that you wait for the QuickPwn release (not sure when, but you can check out the Dev-Team Blog for any latest updates).

I have actually tried out all the new features included in this OS 3.0, and I would say I really appreciate the effort by Apple, they have really enhances my experience in using the iPhone, overall its much faster, stable and efficient now. When I am surfing the web in Safari, the speed is much faster than I expected, and no crashing so far. Some other new features which I like, would include the copy/cut/paste and universal search features. It’s more convenient to type whatever info I need, and find what I needed on the spot. It’s better to try out than saying, so if you can’t wait any longer, just download Pwnage Tool 3.0 today, and install onto your iPhone!

Rediscovering myself this Summer

Recently, I have actually diverted my attention away from design to other areas, which I have been missing out previously. Don’t get me wrong, but I still love designing alot (It’s my passion since young), just that for now I think its time for me to move on and gain more knowledge in other areas. And furthermore, moving on to my 3rd year of study in Uni, academic load is getting a little tough for me to handle, therefore, I think its a good time for me to re-adjust my focus point. Nevertheless, DreamPlus Studio shall continue to be my main blog connecting to the virtual world.

Other than taking up a special sem in my school this Summer, I am spending most of my time reading up. Nowadays, when there is any time I have, I would try to read some books mainly on self-improvement and spiritual type, as I realised that, it can help me to understand more about myself. Instead of exploring things around me, I think its more important to go within me (spiritually). I believe this will certainly benefit in later stage of lives, whereby we will meet new challenges. And when these problems arises, we would be able to tackle them one by one, without losing ourselves.

Thoughts on this year’s Apple WWDC 2009

After watching this year WWDC Keynote, I think its great to see how Apple continue to streamline its products and providing the best offer it can for the consumers. And most importantly, this event has proven that even if Steve Jobs is not around, Apple is still able to perform equally well, if compared to last year’s WWDC. In a way, its an encouraging moment I would say.

Personally, I think WWDC 2009, is all about staying focus for Apple, this is very important for a corporate company like Apple. By having so many products range, right from iPhone, Mac, Mac OS X and etc., if they are not focus enough on their products, they might not be able to substain in the long run, especially in this ever-demanding market, whereby users’ mind keep on changing and technology can move on so fast. Therefore, I think this year’s WWDC is a good opportunity for Apple to announce to the public about their effort and interest, in continuing to enhance on their current products, based on the users’ demand, and latest technology that they are willing to invest on. I strongly believe Apple has did it once again, and seriously saying, I can’t wait to get my hands on the upcoming Snow Leopard OS!
